Our Corporate Officers

Michael M. Earley
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Michael M. Earley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer has been employed by Metropolitan since March 10, 2003 and previously served as a director of Metropolitan from June 2000 to December 2002. Mr. Earley became Chairman of the Board of Directors in September 2004. Mr. Earley has been an advisor to public and privately owned companies, acting in a variety of management roles since 1997. From 1986 to 1997, he served in a number of senior management roles, including CEO and CFO of Intermark, Inc. and Triton Group Ltd., both publicly traded diversified holding companies. He was Chief Executive Office of Triton Group Management, a corporate consulting firm, from 1997 through December 1999. He was Chief Executive Officer of Collins Associates, an institutional money management firm, from January 2000 through December 2002.

Mr. Earley was a self-employed corporate consultant from January 2002 through February 2003. Since August 2002, Mr. Earley has been serving as a director and member of the audit committee of MPower Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications company. Mr. Earley received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of San Diego. From 1978 to 1983, he was an audit and tax staff member of Ernst & Whinney.

Robert J. Sabo
Chief Financial Officer

Robert J. Sabo, Chief Financial Officer joined Metropolitan on November 15, 2006. Bob has over 34 years of financial acumen and expertise focused substantially in the Florida healthcare industry. He began his career as a CPA in South Florida with Ernst & Young in 1972, rising through the ranks of the organization, achieving partnership, with his most recent responsibility as Market Leader of the Health Science Practice of the Carolinas. During his career he has worked with numerous private and public HMO’s and a multitude of healthcare related companies in both the public and private arena. Most recently he was the Chief Financial Officer of Hospital Partners of America, LLC, a privately held North Carolina healthcare services and hospital partnership company, where his duties included the day to day financial operations of the organization as well the company’s significant business development and merger and acquisition work.

Mr. Sabo graduated with a B.B.A., Accounting from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Roberto L. Palenzuela, Esq.
General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Palenzuela was a founder, and from 1991 to 1995 served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer, of Community Medical Plan, Inc., a Florida based health maintenance organization ("Community Medical"). In 1994, Community Medical and its wholly owned medical facilities were sold to Foundation Health Corporation. In 1994, Mr. Palenzuela co-founded Community Health Plan of the Rockies, Inc., a health maintenance organization based in Denver , Colorado ("CHPR"). From 1994 to 2003, Mr. Palenzuela served as an officer and director of CHPR . From May 1996 to June 1997, Mr. Palenzuela was a partner with the law firm of Adams, Gallinar, Iglesias & Palenzuela, P.A. Mr. Palenzuela's private law practice was devoted primarily to health care transactional matters and issues involving corporate law and finance, venture capital investments and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Palenzuela has testified before committees of the U.S. House of Representatives on issues relating to health care reform. Mr. Palenzuela earned his Bachelor in Business Administration and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami .

Roman G. Fisher, MS, LLM
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Fisher has over 20 years experience in medical information and communication technology. Prior to joining the Company in 1996, he held executive management positions in various medical service and medical technology companies, where he was responsible for the organization's information and communication systems, medical billing and imaging systems, hardware and software acquisitions, strategic planning and implementation of new technologies.

Mr. Fisher's expertise lies in the administration, implementation, and utilization of information technology systems and databases, the administration and supervision of technical staff, as well as administrative and technical asset management. 

Mr. Fisher holds a Masters of Science degree from Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a Law Degree from the University of Basel, Switzerland.
