Nancy Bachman joined Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. in 2007 as senior vice president of health services for the AdvantageCare Medicare HMO. She has over 25 years of experience in health care delivery in the areas of clinical operations, business relationships and development, strategic growth, managed care, integrated delivery systems, care management and operational transitions. As senior vice president of medical operations, Nancy currently oversees all operations for our Coastal Business Unit.
Previously, Nancy was the vice president of clinical operations for Coordinated Care Solutions, Inc., where she made numerous contributions. She was one of the founders of this national integrated care management company, which serves elderly, high risk and chronically ill populations across the acute/post-acute and long-term care continuum.
Nancy has been a guest speaker at numerous industry conferences focusing on managed Medicare and Medicaid programs and the post-acute continuum of services. She graduated from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and attended the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Maryland.
Maria A. Xirau

Maria Xirau has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry. She has dedicated fifteen of those years to managed care. Maria joined Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. in 1996, and has served in a multitude of roles, from a vice president of operations statewide to network development and everywhere in between based on the needs of the organization. Maria thrives in a continually changing environment that never stands still, and her ability to jump into any situation and provide guidance has broadened the strategic development of Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. She is the "go to" person for all members of the Senior Leadership Team in all areas of operations.
Maria’s accomplishments include a proven track record of converting offices from deficit performance to lucrative profitable entities, as well as developing and opening new medical practices. This includes demographic and saturation analysis to determine location, negotiating leases, hiring staff and conducting the necessary follow-through so that all operational processes are implemented and maintained. Maria took an interest in the Medicare Risk Adjustment and has created a proven methodology for the Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. offices she manages to capture all appropriate diagnosis and improve physician documentation. She has also been an integral individual in the transformation of Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc.’ wholly- owned offices to Level 3 NCQA Recognized Patient-Center Medical Home™. Maria is very involved in community relations such as American Red Cross, Seniors and Friends and the American Heart Association, and is a strong patient advocate.
She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and furthered her education in Nursing at Emory University of Atlanta, Georgia.
Sharon Munroe

Sharon Munroe has over 18 years of experience in the human resources management industry with a focus on managed health care and compliance. She joined Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. in 1997 after having served as the senior managing administrator for a large pain management facility in North Miami Beach, Florida. She also has a wealth of legal knowledge after working as a paralegal with prominent law firms for 10 years.
As vice president of human resources, Sharon’s professional strengths are currently reflected by overseeing all its functions, including benefits management, compliance with federal and state labor laws, employee retention and ensuring the uniform application of policies and procedures throughout the organization.
Sharon graduated from the College of Arts, Science and Technology in Jamaica with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and received her Certification in Human Resources Management from Florida Atlantic University. She has been awarded the designation of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by the Society of Human Resources Management, holds an advanced certificate in conducting workplace investigations and is certified as an employee retention specialist. Sharon is an active member of the American Society of Training & Development and the National Association of Professional Women, and continues to be accredited for human resources enrichment programs to ensure employee personal growth and career development.
