About MetCare
A Brief History
Metropolitan Health Networks, Inc. ('MetCare') began operations as a physician practice group in Florida in early 1996. Our first managed care contract was with Humana in South Florida. We soon grew to manage all of Humana's Medicare Advantage customers in the Flagler and Volusia counties.
Legislation passed in 2003 led to a rapid increase in Medicare Advantage membership. By 2005, our wholly owned “AdvantageCare” subsidiary had expanded to serve 13 Florida counties. In 2008, Humana purchased this operation, and contracted with MetCare to continue providing care to their AdvantageCare members.
Today, we are more committed than ever to exceptional care and responsible growth.
